About

Welcome to Tweak :-)

Tweak is a little shop opened by me (Georgina) in December 2016.

Here you can find antique and vintage furniture and statement upholstery that has all been lovingly restored and upholstered by me. You will also find interior items for your home and garden and art and crafts by local and British artists. There are always plenty of different and unique items that will make your friends and family go "ooh I like that"

Tweak is also Derbyshire's official stockist for Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint...which is the best paint in the world (but I would say that wouldn't I) but seriously, if you like the authentic antiqued look on painted furniture, then this is defiantly the paint for you. Its also made from 100% natural ingredients, so good for the environment too.

My bricks and mortar shop, is one of seven shops, in a beautifully restored 16th century Courtyard, situated on the Sudbury Estate in Derbyshire.

For the last 22 years, I have been working in the family business (don't worry its not like the film Goodfellas).  We had several shops in The Midlands selling lovely English china and gifts.

From a very young age, I have always had an interest in interiors and whilst working for my parents, I began to update antique and vintage furniture, and then sneak them into the shop and sell them!

Inherited from my mum, I have a particular passion for chairs! In 2011, I started an upholstery course and gained a full house of distinctions in both my City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in traditional upholstery.

In 2016, I stumbled across The Courtyard as it was being restored. I immediately expressed my interest in having one of the units, and I was lucky enough to get one :-)

Tweak was born.

ooh and if you were wondering about the name?

Well, I spend at least 70% of my time tweaking stuff....nothings every finished, there's always room for another tweak or two ;-)
